Sneak Peek “G” Family {Family Portrait Photographer, Rochester MN}
Sunday I got to photograph some of my favorite clients! I met this family when I photographed their youngest for her 9 month portraits, and I’ve gotten to watch her grow. Sunday’s session was a family session and their daughter’s 2 year session! We couldn’t shoot at the location we’d planned on because it was closed to the public (one day we will get to! I think it will have to be a week day though). So we went back to our tried and true location, Soldiers Field Park. The kids love it, and are so relaxed here. It was a fun session, it’s great to see the kids personalities change as they grow, and I love to watch big brother with big sister, what a bond!
Here are a few of my favorites!
Family Portrait Session- Sneak Peek!
Great Great Family Session today!! The family is return clients of mine, and they were actually the first paying client I had when I started my business, and they’re still with me.. I think that’s a good sign.
It’s amazing to me how much kids change in a year! I always enjoy photographing these cuties, and today was NO different, they had me laughing and acting like a idiot to get them laughing as well! Enjoy!
What to Wear to a portrait session?
A fellow photographer, and Cafemom Jessica Gwozdz shared this on her blog, and I have to share it with you all!
Many times clients ask, “What should we wear to our family portrait session?” Many of you think that everyone in the family needs to wear the exact same thing. While I have shot these types of portraits in the past, I would like to challenge you to think outside the box a little bit. One great technique for planning your family’s wardrobe is to imagine that you are dressing one person. If you lay the clothing for everyone out on the bed, does it all work together? Does anything clash? Below is a brown/beige/red palette to give you an example. Notice that nobody is wearing the exact same outfit, yet each item complements everything else in the grouping.
As always, I recommend that we have a clothing consultation before any session!
