Catching you up! Sneak Peek “H & R” Wedding {Lanesboro, MN Wedding Photographer}

My poor little blog! I don’t come here enough, so much time is put into managing my business page on facebook  (Follow me on Facebook!) that I get behind on here!

However, I’ve had some great sessions this summer, and I HAVE to share them on here!

One of my most unique weddings so far happened at the end of this June, we got some spectacular images and…. Submitted them to MN Bride, & Rochester Weddings (and the bride has another magazine she’d like to submit to as well)! I will keep you posted on if I get published or not.. I’m just excited I had the guts to submit them and that the client was so happy with the images she wanted to submit them.

You may remember this client from their 1940′s themed engagement session (Click Here) well their wedding was nothing less than memorable!

They got married at Berwood Hill Inn in Lanesboro, MN. The 1st time I had a wedding here, it rained. Let me re-phrase that.. it poured and was 40 degrees.. it was the same weekend last year.. So needless to say the ceremony was not outside & we didn’t get to use the Inn’s grounds. HOWEVER this time around we did!!

The weather was HOT & HUMID, but we used the gardens for portraits & the ceremony. It was simply storybook!!

Sneak Peek “C” Wedding {Wedding Photographer Rushford MN}

I’m a little behind with my blog  posts, so I’m playing catch up. These image are from one of my first weddings of the year, which took place in Rushford MN, with the ceremony at St. Mary’s College in Winona MN. This couple was so laid back, and their wedding party was a riot! The groom surprised me a few times with his spontaneity, which we photographers LOVE! A BIG Congratulations to Andy & Krystal!! I’ve truly enjoyed meeting you both, and your wonderful families and friends as well!

When it rains it pours?? Who said this is a bad thing?!

This week has been pretty amazing for me when it comes to my photography business.. I’ve booked 2 weddings for next year, gotten some pretty amazing compliments on my work from potential clients, and recieved some amazing compliments on my work from current clients.. All in all I need to quit 2nd guessing my decision to go into business for myself. It’s hard sometimes, not because I question my ability, but because I question paying the bills.. I’m married to a Financial Analyst.. which is great sometimes because I don’t make the financial mistakes I did in my youth (I have to pause, man did I just say that!? I’m not even 30 yet! I’m still young!! . But it’s also hard sometimes because I have to present a business plan if I want to get my hair cut (ok, not seriously.. well not anymore.. he’s gotten much better LOL!), and especially since I’ve started my business.. He stresses out, which stresses me out. Not good for my creative genes!  Or maybe it is… Hmmm.. I wonder.. I’ve lived a pretty stressful life (which I will not get into on a public forum) but it’s all made me stronger, better, and the person I am today, and I like her! So maybe I thrive in this.. What will I do when things aren’t stressful! Just imagine how creative I’ll be then! Ha!

So besides designing some albums, processing a wedding, designing Christmas cards, designing business cards & tweeking my marketing approach.. I just implemented a GIFT REGISTRY!!! I figure in this day & age, what a great Idea!! Getting your portraits done is a want, and now a days we can’t have everything we want.. SO gift registry it is! I revive my creative juices with a Venti Iced Caramel Mocciatto with a extra shot of espresso! Yeah that’s right that will jumpstart any creative soul, either that or give me a heart attack… LOL!! Yum

Sneak Peek- Katrina & Josh… HALLOWEEN WEDDING!!!

Yes, you read that right. A Halloween wedding.. It was an outdoor ceremony in the Peace Plaza in Rochester MN (it was COLD and Windy, but So Awesome!), then bowling at Colonial Lanes, then a reception at the Elks Lodge. There were so many little details that would catch you by surprise, such as; the Bride died the underskirts of her dress orange, the bowling was cosmic bowling for the last hour, the cake was a topsy turvy Halloween themed cake, the guestbook was a Awesome Spanish “Amore” poster for everyone to sign, and MORE!

This wedding was truly unique, and I loved to be a part of it! I adore Josh and Katrina, they’re so down to earth, and just genuinely good people! Oh, and of course Katrina is SO into photography, so I was excited!!

So recently I posted about a wedding I shot, where the Bride & Groom left the Church in a 1920′s limosine.. at that time I’d just started to process pictures and hadn’t gotten to the pictures with the car yet.. so I have to share!! I love them! Plus, some great ones from what I have done of the dance so far!

Mother Nature decided to LOVE US! With all the nasty weather we’d been having, and the fact that Alicia & Michael’s church was having construction done on it- so they wanted pictures outside.. I was nervous about nature this past Saturday.. But Mother Nature gave us a break! It was a Perfect Day!! No rain, some nice sunshine.. what more can you ask for… How about a 1920′s limosine for the bride & groom to leave the church in.. OK!!!

Here’s some of my favorite’s so far:
